The yorkshire hogs that we've seen at the Expo, Type Conference, and State Fairs this summer have way to many york boars and gilts that run down hill in their front end. Some of this comes from being down on their pasterns--we as breeders need to work on these two problems and get them fixed,
Step Up is a York boar that is tall fronted, very good on his pasterns, wide chested, clean throated, has good length of neck and face and very well balanced. He's tremendous coming at you and the same great width going away; he brings that same great width to the top of his skeleton, tremendous width over his blades and brings that width back to his pin set. He has a huge center body mass, his forerib comes way high into his crisp loin edge. Step Up is one stout featured, correctly designed York boar.
